Inhalte

This X-Student Research Group is a student-led enquiry into the various manifestations of fear in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). The main research question is: What do the participants (students) understand by the term fear/phobia in the university context and how does it play a role (if at all) in the lives of the participants in their respective academic settings? Through an intersectional and interdisciplinary enquiry, the participants will learn to study an emotion like fear and analyse it through a theoretical framework, drawing both from field research and personal reflections. This is in pursuit of understanding how safe(r) spaces are/can be created. Participants, from BA (advanced semesters) and MA programmes in social sciences and humanities, are expected to have some limited understanding of field research and how to conduct qualitative interviews; but those without prior knowledge should be interested to know more about it. The medium of instruction will be English.
