On 3 June, 2026, BUA CORe and de-RSE organize a day dedicated to Research Software. For the surrounding week (01-05 June 2026), research organizations and research software initiatives in Berlin are invited to promote their events via a joint campaign. Please find the program and registration here: https://forschungssoftware.info/RSdays/2026/Berlin/.
The Research Software Day Berlin & Brandenburg takes place in Berlin on June 3, 2026. The event brings together researchers who (want to) develop software with networking and training initiatives for research software engineering, computer scientists interested in this domain, as well as RDM teams, data stewards, librarians and other research managers who are increasingly confronted with software questions.
The aim of the Research Software Day is to learn, share and strengthen local communities around research software as a key component of open and responsible research. It is organized by the Berlin University Alliance (BUA) and the de-RSE e.V. – Society for Research Software in Germany, in cooperation with the Cluster of Excellence Matters of Activity.
In addition to the face-to-face event on June 3, online training events are organized during the whole week of June 1-5, 2026 (the first ever Research Software Week in Germany!).
The Research Software Day offers opportunities for
- hands-on coding training for researchers,
- discussing overarching research software topics, like legal questions, software quality or AI research governance as well as
- getting to know (other) research software initiatives.
Please find the program and event registration here: https://forschungssoftware.info/RSdays/2026/Berlin/.
