CORe regards itself as an exchange platform for bundling the different scientific and professional expertise of the BUA partners and for developing, elucidating, and reflecting on a shared understanding of values, taking into account specific research cultures in each case.
CORe supports research activities, education and training measures and promotes the networking of relevant stakeholders in the fields of research quality and open science. Another key area is the monitoring of measures and successes in the implementation of the integrated Berlin research environment – a central goal of the BUA.
Call for Proposals “Shaping Research Culture”: Apply Now and Help Shape Research Culture at the BUA!
Through the “Shaping Research Culture” funding programme, the Berlin University Alliance (BUA) supports practice-oriented projects on Open Science and Responsible Research Assessment. Interdisciplinary collaborations and cooperation with central facilities, libraries, computing centres, research services, administration, and research management are particularly encouraged.
The call focuses on tested and transferable solutions that can be scaled across the BUA. Projects may, for example, develop fair, transparent, diversity-sensitive, and quality-oriented assessment processes and tools, develop measures and incentives to strengthen the integration of Open Science, or investigate the interplay between institutional frameworks, career paths, incentives, and research practices.
The call is open until 15 January 2027. Further information on the call, the application process, and the evaluation and selection procedures can be found here.
To support applicants with questions about the application process, CORe is offering two online information sessions:
- 16 October 2026, 1:00–2:00 p.m.
- 9 November 2026, 9:30–10:30 a.m.
