Open preparatory meeting for an Oxford-Berlin Workshop on Sustainable Energy on 4-5 July

The Vice Academic Directors of the Oxford Berlin Research Partnership representing STEM, Prof. Moritz Riede (Soft Functional Materials, University of Oxford), and Prof. Peter Neubauer (Bioprocess Engineering, Technical University Berlin), will organize a Workshop on sustainable energy this summer, on the day after the annual Oxford-Berlin symposium.

  • Date & place: July 4-5, 2024, Berlin (exact location tbd)
  • Title: Rethinking global challenges – Sustainable Energies
  • Goals: to bring together researchers from Berlin and Oxford to lay the foundation for further impactful collaborations and plan collaborative applications to existing calls from diverse funding agencies.
  • Topics: carbon capture and storage science/technology, solar science/technology, energy networks/systems, biocatalytic options for energy generation/conservation/upgrading (e.g. hydrogenase), climate-neutral ecosystems, circular bioeconomy concepts with focus on valorization of side streams from food, agriculture, and forestry industries…
  • Participants: open to researchers at the University of Oxford, BUA and BR50

We would like scientists from both cities to get to know each other before this workshop. Therefore, we are organizing an online meeting where scientists from the University of Oxford, BUA and BR50 working on the above-mentioned topics are invited to present their research in 3-5 min flash talks. This online meeting will take place on April 25th, 14:00-16:00, Berlin time.

If you would like to give a flash talk, please, fill in the box below and send it to marta.gonzalezgomez@tu-berlin.de by April 12th, 2024.
