Research Forums

The Research Forums aim to strengthen the transdisciplinary mode of research within the Berlin University Alliance and in Berlin. To this end, innovative formats are developed, new collaborations and networks are formed, practical experience is made possible for scientists and societal stakeholders, and permanent structures are established. In four different Research Forums, transdisciplinary processes are conducted with various groups of societal stakeholders as well as scientists from the partner institutions.

Research Forum Social Cohesion

The Research Forum Social Cohesion supports the transdisciplinary approach of the Exploration Projects Social Cohesion . The six projects explore sub-aspects of the Grand Challenge Initiative on Social Cohesion and are being funded by the Berlin University Alliance from 2020 to 2023.

Research Forum Global Health

Global health is a challenge that Berlin, as an integrated research environment, is also facing. In the Research Forum Global Health, scientists as well as stakeholders from organized civil society, politics, economy, art, and culture participate in a joint knowledge exchange in thematic workshops.

Research Forum Next Grand Challenge

To which global challenge should the Berlin excellence alliance devote all its expertise? What topic should be the next Grand Challenge Initiative? This is exactly what the Berlin University Alliance wants to find out jointly with researchers and society.

Research Forum Berlin Citizens

A basic hypothesis of the Research Forum Berlin Citizens is that the sciences can contribute even better to solving societal challenges if topics from society are raised. It is planned to test and advance this innovative approach here.
