What does it mean to belong at university – within and beyond the classroom? This session will invite students and academics to share their insights on why belonging matters in universities and research institutions, and how we can foster belonging in our learning and knowledge-creation environments. Following a brief introduction by Professor Eva Cheng, the session will invite participants to share their perspectives and experiences in an open fishbowl discussion.

Professor Eva Cheng is Professor and Academic Co-Lead for Culture, Wellbeing, Inclusion, and Advancement in the Faculty of Engineering and IT at the University of Technology Sydney. She was also an Audre Lorde Visiting Professor with the Berlin University Alliance.
