CV Felicitas Heßelmann

Felicitas Hesselmann is a postdoctoral researcher at the Robert-K.-Merton-Center for Science Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin where she leads the projects "Automated misconduct detection" (AUTO) and "Publication Bias: Analysis of Non-Publication and Non-Reception of Results in Interdisciplinary Comparison" (PANNE), as well as a postdoctoral researcher at the German Centre for Higher Education and Science Studies. She is a sociologist by training who ventured into Science Studies with her dissertation on institutional responses to research misconduct. It was in this context that she became interested in postcolonial and intersectional perspectives on research misconduct and the presence of possible biases in addressing it. She has published on topics such as social responses to deviance in science, academic evaluation practices and in particular peer review, academic norms and authorship practices, and the sociology of digital infrastructures.
