Bart Verberck

After obtaining a PhD in Physics from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, and working for about 8 years as a postdoctoral researcher in Belgium, Germany and France, Bart joined Springer Nature as an editor for Nature Physics in London, UK, in 2013, handling manuscripts on a variety of physics topics including condensed matter and plasma physics. He also wrote for the journal, commissioned review articles and opinion pieces, and launched a column on aspects of metrology. In 2017, he moved to Berlin, Germany, as Regional Executive Editor to help set up the Nature Portfolio office there, and develop it as an editorial and publishing hub with a focus on local outreach. Since 2021, Bart combines that capacity with the role of Senior Consulting Editor at Nature Physics, covering selected topics in condensed matter physics.
