Global Health is an evolving domain unifying concepts and interventions related to health and disease in a globalized world. A key feature of Global Health is its multi-disciplinary and trans-sectoral approach addressing health problems that are not restricted by national borders, such as emerging infections, antimicrobial resistance, major non-communicable diseases, as well as the consequences of social and environmental change (climate change, migration, pollution, etc.) on health and disease.

The Oxford-Berlin Workshop on Global Health brings together researchers from Oxford and Berlin universities to initiate new networks and projects in the area of Global Health. It takes place in the frame of the Oxford – Berlin Research Partnership, a far-reaching cooperation between the University of Oxford and the members of the Berlin University Alliance - Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin - based on a joint memorandum of understanding signed in December 2017. The meeting is a satellite of the World Health Summit, one of the world’s most prominent strategic forums for Global Health, held in Berlin in October 14-16.

The workshop is primarily addressed at researchers at the Berlin universities. Please feel free to forward the invitation to interested colleagues. Please register via e-mail to center-global-health@charite.de before October 8.
