Call: BUA Provides Funding for Alliance Centers to Further Develop Collaborative Research Infrastructures

Today, many research questions can only be addressed with high-performance infrastructure, specialized methods, and reliable collaborations. Through the Alliance Center call for proposals, Berlin University Alliance is therefore supporting the development of strategic platforms that make research infrastructure, services, data resources, methods, and technological expertise more visible, accessible, and shareable across institutions. Consortia comprising at least three of the four BUA institutions are eligible to apply. The application deadline is September 10. On July 7 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., interested researchers can learn more about the call for proposals during an online information session; registration is available at brt@berlin-university-alliance.de

Through this call for proposals, the Excellence Alliance supports projects that strategically strengthen the Berlin Knowledge and Innovation Space by creating new synergies. The goal is to develop joint utilization concepts, foster communities, and further increase the visibility of flagship infrastructure areas within BUA.

Proposals should outline, among other things, the participating research infrastructures, the work program, the governance structure, the expected impact on an expanded user or subject-matter community, and the significance for researchers in the early and mid-career stages.

This call for proposals is part of Berlin University Alliance’s “Sharing Resources” commitment. The Excellence Alliance is establishing a joint network for research services and infrastructures, pooling resources from partner institutions, and making them visible and accessible to researchers within the Alliance.
