Workshop on Research Data Management in the Medical and Biomedical Sciences

07.10.2021 | 09:00 - 16:00

Due to the rising digital transformation of research, sustainable research data management (RDM) is becoming more and more important. Research in the medical and biomedical sciences, as highly databased disciplines, requires increasingly profound competence in managing and documenting their data through their long-term storage, archiving, publication, and reuse.

The workshop will provide an overview of the various aspects of research data management and of both generic and subject-specific requirements, standards and recommendations, as well as information on relevant location-specific RDM services and infrastructures. In addition, we will introduce best practice examples from the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). There will be plenty of time allocated for discussion and questions. It is presented by ZB MED – Information Centre for Life Sciences, Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Charité – Berlin Institute of Health.

Topics:

  • Planning (Data management plans, funder requirements)
  • Data collection
  • Data publishing & sharing
  • Data preservation
  • Local services
  • Data reuse & search
  • Best practice examples

Audience:

The workshop is intended for all-qualification-level (bio-) medical researchers and for all levels of expertise in research data management.
