BUA Students Present Research at the German Bundestag
From 26 June to 17 July, students will present their research as part of the exhibition “Posters in the Bundestag.” The nationwide competition is organized by the University of Oldenburg, with the Berlin University Alliance (BUA) serving as a project partner. BUA is strongly represented in this year’s exhibition, contributing ten of the 44 selected projects. The student research projects, which explore topics ranging from body culture to sustainable materials, were developed primarily within the framework of X-Tutorials and X-Student Research Groups of the Student Research Opportunities Program (StuROPx). Through StuROPx, BUA promotes the integration of cutting-edge research and teaching.

The exhibition “Poster im Bundestag: Wissenschaftsfreiheit – die Freiheit zu forschen” will be officially opened on 25 June 2026 at the Bundestag’s Paul Löbe Building. As part of the opening event, students will discuss their research with academics and members of the German Bundestag. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Andrea Lindholz, Vice President of the German Bundestag, while science journalist Dr Jan-Martin Wiarda will moderate the event.
Throughout the exhibition, participating students will also offer several public guided tours. Research projects focusing on sustainability will be presented on 29 June and 2 July 2026, while contributions addressing digital transformation and artificial intelligence will be featured on 15 July 2026. Registration for the tours is required and can be completed online via the German Bundestag.
The student research projects selected for Posters in the Bundestag address pressing societal and scientific challenges and were chosen from 114 submissions by student research groups from across Germany. The exhibition forms part of the Erasmus+ project “Posters in Brussels,” which brings undergraduate students from across Europe into dialogue with policymakers.
The University of Oldenburg coordinates the project in cooperation with partner institutions, including the Berlin University Alliance. The European Union and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are funding the initiative through the end of 2026 with a total of €400,000.
