Competence in handling research data is a central prerequisite for Open Science – without good documentation and sustainment, there is no FAIRly (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Re-usable) published data.
To build up this competence in the various fields and institutions of the Berlin University Alliance, skilled trainers are needed. This September, the Center for Open and Responsible Research and the project Collaboratively Advancing Research Data Support offer a Train-the-Trainer workshop on research data management for Open Science. In two days, Dr. Katarzyna Biernacka, trainer and data steward at the UniSysCat Cluster of Excellence, will equip participants without previous experience to give own trainings in research data management at their institution.
When? September 10th and 11th 2025 from 9am to 4:30pm.*
Where? In presence at the main building of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
What will I learn? You will learn about both research data management (research data life cycle, data management plans, documentation, storage, backup, long-term archiving, and publication as open data) and didactic principles and methods.
Who can participate? All researchers of Freie Universität, Humboldt-Universität, Technische Universität and Charité Universitätsmedizin who want to give RDM-trainings in their institution are welcome to join the free workshop. No previous knowledge is required.
Registration: Since spots are limited, please register until August 28th 2025 via this link.
* If you cannot make the date, there will be an additional workshop from November 18th to 20th 2025. Stay tuned for further information.
