Members of Oxford Neuroscience and Neuroscience Cluster of Excellence, Charité Universitätsmedizin, Berlin held a joint mini symposium on "Mechanisms of Brain State Control”.

Professor Britta Eickholt, Professor Matthew Larkum, Dr Timothy Zolnik and Miss Aasha Meenakshisundaram contributed to the meeting from Berlin and the groups of Professor Zoltán Molnár; Professor Ed Mann and Professor Alastair Buchan from Oxford. Professors Buchan and Molnár both hold an Einstein Visiting Fellowship at Charité Berlin. Professor Molnar’s fellowship has been recently renewed for 2024-2026 hosted by Professor Britta Eickholt (https://www.dpag.ox.ac.uk/news/professor-zoltan-molnar2019s-einstein-visiting-fellowship-at-the-charite-2013-universitatsmedizin-berlin-renewed).

On Wednesday, 20th March the delegation from Berlin got an excellent overview of the research activities at Oxford by attending the Oxford Neuroscience Symposium (https://www.neuroscience.ox.ac.uk/about/oxford-neuroscience-symposium). 

The organizers thanked the Einstein Foundation for their continued funding and to Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics and St John’s College for their support.
