In recent years no other research hub in Germany has attracted so many scholars and scientists from all over the world as Berlin with its rich academic program and excellent resources. The number of international students has also increased steadily. Research networks are interdisciplinary and are connected worldwide. Strategic partnerships or profile partnerships with universities around the world facilitate an even easier collaboration in joint research projects or in the promotion of young talent. Members of the three major Berlin universities and Charité – including students, researchers, and administrative staff – are invited to visit leading institutions around the world as part of exchange programs and within various forms of cooperation. All this creates new ideas through exchange and networking – the diversity of international perspectives is a fundamental component of research excellence in Berlin.
