Goal

The Leadership Program gives female professors within the Berlin University Alliance the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills and expand their professional network.

Contents

The one-year program focuses on the individualized, targeted advancement of female professors within the Berlin University Alliance. Participants explore the topic of leadership in academia in depth, take part in individual coaching, and can expand their professional networks. They are supported by selected coaches and trainers from the leadership program.

The leadership program comprises three elements:

  • six workshops on leadership in academia, plus follow-up sessions
  • a leadership-style analysis with up to five one-on-one coaching sessions
  • four networking events

Target Audience

The program is intended for female professors within the BUA who already hold positions of responsibility and wish to expand and strengthen their individual leadership competencies. Eligible to apply are W2/C3 and W3/C4 professors in permanent posts; S-professors and junior professors are not eligible.

Twelve places are available each year, filled on a parity basis with members of the partner institutions. Participants are chosen by the board of the Berlin Leadership Academy through a standardized process that takes into account factors such as career stage and disciplinary diversity.
