Societal Impact@BUA

Dec 16, 2020 | 02:00 PM - 03:30 PM

Online-Colloquium

Franziska Sörgel, research associate with the Robert K. Merton Center for Science Studies will be presenting her project “Societal Impact@BUA”. The project examines the diverse forms of societal impact in the Berlin research environment, for instance in different disciplines, organizations, and other societal fields to show how and to which extent science in Berlin interacts with its surrounding (societal) environment. The project focuses on questions that arise in the context of societal impact and research quality. So far, it is unclear what can be considered good research in terms of societal impact, and systematic overviews of criteria and procedures are still missing. The project understands and addresses research quality not from a disciplinary perspective, but with a strong inter- and transdisciplinary approach.

The Colloquium is open to researchers of all status groups and disciplines as well as interested parties from the non-academic areas. Event language is German.
