CV Dr. Nicole Foeger

Nicole Foeger is Head of the Administrative Office of the Austrian Agency for Research Integrity since 2010. She holds a PhD degree in biochemistry and worked as a researcher at the Medical University of Vienna, the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg (Germany) and at the University of Basel (Switzerland). Later on, she also obtained a postgraduate education in Public Relations.

From 2012 until 2018 Nicole Foeger was elected Chair of the European Network of Research Integrity Offices (ENRIO). She is experienced in research integrity training (at national and international level) and a frequently invited speaker at international meetings and stakeholder workshops about research integrity. The Austrian Ministry appointed her to be a member of the Pan-European Platform on Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Education (ETINED), the Mutual Learning Exercise (MLE) on Research Integrity and a Peer Learning Activity (PLA) on Academic and Research Integrity. She is involved in different initiatives on research integrity and cooperates with experts from other European countries as well as from USA, Canada, Japan, Africa, Peru and other countries. Since 2018 she is member of the Governing Board of the World Conference on Research Integrity Foundation (WCRIF). She was and is project partner in ENERI, VIRT2UE, SOPs4RI and ROSiE and member of the advisory board of the EU-funded projects PRINTEGER, EnTIRE, ETHNA System, Path2Integrity and HEIRRI.
