iRights.Law Workshop: "Copyright in Research: Using, Sharing, and Publishing Research Data"

On 26 October 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm in Berlin-Dahlem, a hybrid workshop led by Dr Till Kreutzer (iRights.Law) will offer practical guidance on copyright, AI, open licences, open science and licensing strategies. The workshop is open to researchers, lecturers, PhD students and academic support staff at the Free University of Berlin (FU Berlin), the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU Berlin) and Charité. The last day to register online is 20 October.

In their day-to-day research, researchers regularly face copyright issues: What content am I allowed to use in my work? Under what conditions can I openly share data and materials? How do I use AI tools and their training data in a legally compliant manner? This workshop offers practical guidance on how to safely handle protected content and licenses in academic work.

Target audience: Researchers, faculty members, doctoral candidates, and research support staff at Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität Berlin, and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

Instructor: Dr. Till Kreutzer, founder and managing partner of iRights.Law, a Berlin-based law firm specializing in legal issues in the digital world. Dr. Kreutzer is also a co-founder of iRights.info, the online portal for consumers and creators on copyright law in the digital world.

Format: Hybrid.
