KICKOFF YOUR DOCTORATE! – Onboarding Event for Doctoral Researchers: April 22–24, 2026 (English Group)

The “Kickoff Your Doctorate” is a retreat for doctoral candidates from all disciplines who are at the beginning of their doctoral studies.

The event is organized by the Graduate Studies Support Program (GSSP) of the Berlin University Alliance (BUA) and, over the course of two and a half days, offers:

• general information on getting started with a doctorate,
• workshops led by experienced trainers on planning and organizing the doctoral project,
• individual consultation and coaching sessions, as well as
• numerous team-building activities for socializing and networking with other doctoral candidates beyond one’s own discipline and home institution.

The event takes place in person. Eligible to participate are all doctoral researchers affiliated with a Berlin University Alliance institution, i.e. HU, FU, TU, or Charité.

Venue: Hotel & Spa Sommerfeld, Kremmen (Brandenburg)

Please note: The event will be offered in German and in English, at different times. Please register for only one of the two events.
