ON WATER | WasserWissen in Berlin
In the BUA's ‘Knowledge Exchange’ working area, scientists and social actors are invited to take part in a programme entitled ON WATER | WasserWissen in Berlin. The aim of the programme is to make water research visible and to discuss it with society. ON WATER | WasserWissen in Berlin promotes a dynamic, multidirectional exchange of knowledge about Berlin's blue-green infrastructure. The programme brings together researchers from Humboldt Universität, Technische Universität, Freie Universität and Charité - Universitätsmedizin with urban society and its water experts. This not only strengthens the excellent research in the network, but also promotes the resilience of society.
Upcoming events
ON WATER | PARCOURS
The ON WATER | Parcours promotes local and global knowledge about water in a variety of exchange formats and interactive events at the interface between art and science - at cultural venues and along Berlin's waterways. In line with the Berlin University Alliance's (BUA) commitment to socially relevant research, WasserWissen aims to share and jointly develop knowledge about the role of water with urban society. The aim is to address key questions about the sustainable future of the city and the essential function of its urban hydrosphere.

ON WATER | DIALOGE
ON WATER | Dialogues is the event series of the TD-Lab - the BUA's laboratory for transdisciplinary and participatory research - which addresses water experts from science and practice. In structured events, they jointly develop solutions for specific case studies based on their specific knowledge contexts. This dialogue creates a network between research, business, politics, administration and organised civil society. The aim is to promote water research and knowledge exchange across disciplinary boundaries - and thus shape Berlin's integrative research area.

ON WATER | EXHIBITION
As watery creatures, we live on, with and from water - especially here, in the ‘water city’ of Berlin. From 9 October, the exhibition ‘On Water. WaterKnowledge in Berlin’ at the Humboldt Labor shows how research at the Berlin University Alliance approaches the element. Starting from the Spree Island, it takes our view of water from the local to the global and from the molecular to other planets with possible water resources. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the scenes of water research, experience the element with all their senses and reflect on a new water ethos. The exhibition is the first in a series about the four elements.
