Transnational Centre for Just Transitions in Energy, Climate & Sustainability (TRAJECTS)
The Transnational Center for Just Transitions in Energy, Climate, and Sustainability (TRAJECTS) began receiving funding in May 2021 as part of the DAAD program Global Centers for Climate and Environment with the financial support of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.
At the Transnational Center for Just Transitions in Energy, Climate, and Sustainability, locally embedded, yet globally aware perspectives meet to address the urgent transitions necessary in the field of fossil fuel and land management to protect the climate and environment. With this goal in mind, the center applies research and teaching oriented to demand and policy issues. In its analysis of the two principal processes of socio-technical transitions, the center also adopts interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches. TRAJECTS has hubs around the world with its main one in Colombia, and two in South Africa and Germany. In addition, it boasts a global network of over forty institutions from civil society, academia, and public administration, to think tanks and businesses. As such, it aims to become a leading actor for sustainability worldwide, especially in the areas of teaching, research, and policymaking.
