In aging societies, the growing demand for care is increasingly being addressed by digital technologies that improve the quality of life of older people in need of care while also taking into account the needs of relatives, caregivers, and healthcare providers. The integration of technologies such as fall sensors, assistive robots, and e-health platforms into digital care ecosystems offers potential, for example through the networking of health data, but also harbors risks such as perceived technology dependency. The project “Digital Care in Aging Societies: Designing Responsible Care Ecosystems” aims to explore how a future digital care ecosystem can reconcile economic and institutional requirements with high standards of care while at the same time being responsible for the well-being of all those involved.
