Goal

The flagship program “Enhancing Leader and Follower Strengths — Resource-Oriented Leadership” enables participants, working with high-profile, internationally renowned trainers, to identify and leverage both their own resources and those of their teams. Participants learn to apply their personal strengths to everyday leadership challenges and to uncover their team members’ strengths, integrating them productively into their shared work.

Contents

The flagship program comprises a two-day workshop held twice a year in Ziethen near Berlin, a half-day follow-up session, and an optional individual-coaching component.

Led by recognized experts in positive psychology and leadership, the workshops address the mounting complexity of leadership amid internationalization, collaborative research, remote work, and teaching. In the workshop participants learn to

  • identify their own strengths
  • integrate those strengths into their leadership practice
  • activate personal resources, and
  • maintain and enhance their performance.

In a protected setting they also explore how to tap their team’s resources and strengths to tackle shared challenges successfully and reach their goals.

Individual Coaching

For many challenges, peer exchange within a group is the ideal setting. Some issues, however, are highly individual and are better addressed one-on-one.

Within the flagship program, participants therefore have the option to take advantage of individual coaching.

Target Group

The program is open to all interested professors within the Berlin University Alliance. Seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis while aiming for gender and institutional parity. Eight seats are available in total—two for each BUA institution.
