BUA Peer Mentoring provides an opportunity for the approximately 100 tenure-track professors in Berlin to network with each other. The focus is on common challenges encountered at all the institutions and accross all disciplines, for example the evaluation procedures for tenure-track professors.

BUA Peer Mentoring is offered jointly as part of the Berlin University Alliance"Promoting Talent" objective, by Freie Universität BerlinHumboldt-Universität zu BerlinTechnische Universität Berlin, and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. It is organized by Berlin Leadership Academy.

There are two modules that you can choose from or use in combination:

Peer Mentoring Groups

Peer mentoring groups consist of four to six tenure-track professors who meet regularly to offer each other advice in an informal setting. Each group decides for itself when to meet and what format and approach meetings take. To help prepare, each group receives an initial coaching session where the members are introduced to a number of peer mentoring techniques. If you would like to join a group or set up a new group, our team is happy to help.

Networking Events

Networking events offer you the opportunity to meet with all the other tenure-track professors in Berlin. The events take place twice a year and are held at each of the four BUA partner institutions in turn. They provide an opportunity to make contacts, share experiences, and find or set up a peer mentoring group. The events also include moderated sessions on specific aspects of tenure-track professorships.
