The Weiterbildungszentrum (WBZ) at Freie Universität Berlin offers a broad array of workshops for both academic and non-academic leaders. The program covers training in methodological and social skills as well as discipline-specific and leadership-specific offerings. Several particularly noteworthy events have been opened to the BLA, enabling members of the Alliance partners.

Most other events are also open to guests from outside Freie Universität Berlin for a nominal fee.

The Berufliche Weiterbildung (BWb) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlinsupports seasoned executives and professors as well as up-and-coming leaders from academia and administration in developing their individual competencies and strengthening their leadership skills.

The Scientific Continuing Education and Cooperation unit (ZEWK) offers a wide range of professional-development courses in various subject areas for researchers at every career stage. Topics span teaching and learning, research management, science communication, and work and management techniques.

All courses are available free of charge to members of the Alliance partners.

The Servicebereich Personalentwicklung und Weiterbildung (II PE-WB) provides managers and emerging leaders at Technische Universität Berlin with a broad array of professional-development courses, networking opportunities, and personal-development options. The “General Leadership Program” is open to all leaders, while the “Leading in Academia” program is tailored specifically to professors.

A selection of these offerings is also available free of charge to participants from the other Alliance partners.

The Fortbildungsakademie is Charité’s central platform for professional development, exchange, and networking. Organized into themed sections, the Academy offers a wide range of events for participants at various levels of qualification.
