Open Access for Gender Studies

GenderOpen Repository to be launched on December 4: Joint project of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt--Universität zu Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin

News from Nov 23, 2017

On Monday, December 4, 2017, "GenderOpen," the electronic platform for publishing and storing publications and findings of gender studies research, which is funded in part by the German Research Foundation (DFG), will be released online for researchers and the general public. The Berlin Senator for Health and Equality, Dilek Kolat, will press the button at a celebratory launch event in the foyer of the main building of Technische Universität Berlin.

The electronic platform is intended to make findings from gender studies research permanently and freely accessible and stored for the long term. At the same time, it gives authors a better opportunity to publicize their gender studies research findings, opening them up to more rapid and targeted academic attention in this interdisciplinary field.

GenderOpen is a joint project of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin. It is being funded with roughly 500,000 euros over a two-year period.
