“Those who Don’t Want to Think will be Fired”

New thinking models in times of complexity and ambiguity are the focus of a joint public lecture series of Humboldt-Universität, Technische Universität, and Berlin University of the Arts in the 2018/19 winter semester – every Tuesday at 6 p.m.

This semester, scholars from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, and Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) are offering a joint lecture series. The lectures within the series deal with new thought models in times of complexity and ambiguity.

The organizers Markus Feufel (Technische Universität Berlin), Sabine Fischer (UdK), Wolfgang Mühl-Benninghaus (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), and Jürgen Schulz (UdK) want to encourage “critical and productive thinking”: “Our experience in teaching and learning shows that the competence to generate knowledge and develop information, i.e., to evaluate information, to classify it in meaningful contexts, to gain insights from it, and to design new information ourselves, must be learned more urgently than ever before.” They were able to win over artists and other cultural professionals, such as illustrator Christoph Niemann and director and author Volker Heise, as well as scholars for the lecture series, which is aimed at students of the participating institutions as well as interested parties outside the university.
