Growth at the Einstein Center Digital Future
Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Technische Universität Berlin are appointing three new professors at the research center coordinated by the three associated partners in cooperation with the Berlin University of the Arts.

Three new professors will be carrying out research at the Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF) on the subjects of the new world of work, databases for rare diseases, and security software.
Professor Dr. Sebastian Köhler took up his junior professorship titled “Methods for Digital Phenotyping” at Charité and the Berlin Institute of Health on June 1, 2018. The junior professorship is associated with the Einstein Center Digital Future. Prof. Dr. Jan Nordholz was appointed to the joint professorship at the National Metrology Institute of Germany (PTB) and Technische Universität Berlin at the ECDF “Secure and Trustworthy Network-Attached System Architectures.” Prof. Dr. Stefan Kirchner heads the “Sociology of Working Worlds’ Digitalization” at Technische Universität Berlin. The professorship is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
The directorship at the Einstein Centre Digital Future was also recently newly appointed: Amaya Steinhilber has held this post since May.
The Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF) is an interdisciplinary project by Technische Universität Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and, as their joint medical school, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Berlin University of the Arts is also one of the sponsors. A total of 55 professors are to be appointed to the universities and the participating universities. Currently, 13 professorships have been filled in the areas of “Digital Health,” “Digital Industry and Services,” “Digital Society and Humanities,” and in the core area “Digital Infrastructure, Methods and Algorithms.”
