Probing the Psychological Reality of Morphomes

Psycholinguists study the acquisition of morphological knowledge and the way complex words are stored, perceived and produced. The mental lexicon is a central concept in modelling the storage of complex words in the lexical memory of the speaker. The correct modelling of complex word processing is an important battleground for competing theories of speech perception and production.
