OpenIRIS@BUA: OpenIRIS in Practice. How Berlin’s research facilities share instruments and services. Join for an afternoon of examples and conversation.
We cordially invite you to OpenIRIS@BUA, an afternoon showcase and networking event on how research facilities across Berlin use OpenIRIS. The event is organised jointly by the OpenIRIS coordinators of the four Berlin University Alliance institutions.
OpenIRIS is booking and management platform that helps Research facilities and institutes make their instruments and services visible, bookable and easier to manage. Researchers can find equipment and expertise across institutions, see the terms of use and book directly. Infrastructure administrators get one place to manage bookings, access and billing. As part of the Berlin University Alliance Sharing Resources objective, OpenIRIS has been rolled out across all four Berlin University Alliance institutions, so that institutes, facilities and research groups can share resources and services across institutional boundaries.
What to expect
- Real examples from core facilities and institutes at Charité, TU Berlin, MDC and BIH, plus the BUA strategy for sharing research infrastructure.
- A panel discussion where you can put your questions directly to the people who run OpenIRIS at their institutions.
- Networking over coffee and drinks, to meet colleagues from across the Berlin University Alliance.
Please find the entire programme here.
The event is open for everyone interested in sharing instruments and services: infrastructure administrators, core/shared facility staff, researchers, research support staff. You don’t need any OpenIRIS experience. If you’re curious about getting started, this event is for you.
Please fill in the form to register.
