DiGENet Junior Research Groups publish special issue in Open Gender Journal.
The DiGENet junior research groups present their collaborative work in the special issue “Institutionalisation of Gender and Diversity – Interdisciplinary Perspectives”, published in the *Open Gender Journal*, an open-access academic journal dedicated to interdisciplinary research on gender and diversity. The event marks the publication of this special issue and provides a space for discussions with the editors about the ideas and debates underpinning the publication.
The special issue features contributions from the four DiGENet early-career research groups: Fix the Numbers (Pichit Buspavanich), Fix the Knowledge (Mirjam Fischer), Fix the System (Sarah Bellows-Blakely), and Fix the Institution (Aline Oloff). Together, they bring together quantitative and qualitative perspectives on gender and diversity in academia. The articles address, among other topics, intersectional research methods, participatory approaches to knowledge production, ethical issues in research involving marginalised groups, and gaps in archives concerning sexual harassment in higher education contexts. The contributions illustrate how universities have engaged with and negotiated commitments to gender and diversity, and where these commitments have at times remained largely symbolic.
