Operating under the framework of the Berlin University Alliance, our research project functioned as a student-led space, fusing academic research with creative practice throughout a year-long journey. Over the past year, we used the screen as our field site to explore the concept of belonging.

Throughout the semester, our participants transitioned from the role of viewer to that of storyteller, engaging in a synthesis that translated theoretical frameworks into personal narratives. This evolution resulted in a diverse body of work, ranging from zines to soundscapes, animations to visual mapping, and short films to collages. ”memoryscapes” is the culmination of this multidisciplinary approach and the tutorial’s discourse on the politics of visibility.
