Support for Junior Researchers

A full range of support options for junior researchers in Berlin

Providing support for junior researchers has long been a shared task. Junior scholars and scientists affiliated with Berlin’s universities and with Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin can obtain support across all of the phases of their careers, from doctoral studies through to joining the professoriate, including advice on career paths outside academia.

The alliance partners work together closely in joint graduate schools established with funding from the first funding line of the German Excellence InitiativeInitiative (2007 to 2017), in graduate schools that emerged from the Excellence Clusters, and in joint research training groups and doctoral programs as well as through initiatives and activities aimed at forging ties among doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and junior professors.

The Einstein Foundation Berlin has set up a website at www.doctoral-programs.de to allow visitors to search for specific doctoral programs in Berlin.
