Dates StuROPx Qualification Program for X-Student Research Groups in the Winter Semester 2025-26

  

Junior researchers whose teaching research project is funded within the framework of StuROPx have the opportunity to further their didactic training as part of the StuROPx qualification program. The aim is to prepare junior researchers for their task as leaders of (student) research groups and to accompany them in the process. In addition to that, supplementary workshops on selected topics will be offered to leaders of X-Student Research Groups. Topics will include science communication and student publishing. Junior researchers who participate in at least 75 percent of the workshops offer will receive a certificate documenting their didactic training.

Supplementary Workshop: Science Communication – Theory an Practice 

  • Content: How can academic research be communicated in a clear and engaging way? Which formats and approaches are suitable for different target groups? In this two-part workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of science communication and develop initial ideas for our own contributions. The focus will be on exchange and practical exercises. The training will cover the following topics: introduction to models, goals and formats of science communication, key aspects of clear and purposeful communication, basics of text and design for the web, development of an initial own science communication contribution, joint reflection and feedback.

Supplementary Workshop: Scientific Publishing within the Berlin University Alliance

  • Content: The scientific publishing landscape offers a confusing number of options, especially for early career researchers. Be it submitting your article to an academic journal or publishing your first edited volume. What exactly is Open Access and why does your own institution not support everything that is later published in Open Access? In theit presentation, Michael Kleineberg and Robert Wiese from Berlin Universities Publishing (BerlinUP) will explain various forms of Open Access, how you can best be supported by your university and how BerlinUP can advise you. The workshop will leave room for your questions. The presentation will be held in English.
