Workshop A4: From Lab Result to Founding Idea: The Idea Napkin for Aspiring Founders
Workshopleitung: Katharina Heinrich
Many excellent research findings go unused simply because their potential for real-world application is never explored. This 90-minute workshop invites students to look at their own research through an entrepreneurial lens. Rather than working through an extensive business-model framework, we use the Idea Napkin - a deliberately simple, quick-to-fill tool that distills every founding idea down to its essentials: Who is the target group? What problem is being solved? What's the offering, and why now? In small groups, participants sketch out a first picture of how their research could become a founding idea. Science & Startups - the joint venture-building center of Humboldt-Universität, Freie Universität, and Technische Universität Berlin (in cooperation with Charité) - will also introduce its advisory, funding, and support services.
Katharina Heinrich is a Startup Consultant at Science & Startups, the joint venture-building center of Humboldt-Universität, Freie Universität, and Technische Universität Berlin (in cooperation with Charité).
